Complete with shanks, nose piece and curbstrap.
Short and narrow shanks that suit small ponies! The holes allow you to attach the reins in different positions, making the hackamore more flexible to the needs of the horse and the "pilot". The closer to the horse you attach the reins, the milder the effect.
Always place the nose piece on the back of the horse's nose (about two fingers' width below the cheekbone) - never too low, as the nosebone can be seriously damaged if too much pressure is applied.
We recommend a head piece with a chin strap placed on the ganache so that the side pieces do not ride up the horse's eyes. (Our own for hackamore is in production.)
Steady and soft hand is recommended, so for toddlers our bitless bridle "Tess" is better suited. On the other hand, if you are experienced, a hackamore feels "safer" if you want to drive without a bit, because you maintain good control, equivalent to that you get with a bite.
The shanks are 2,7 cm wide and 11 cm long.
The nose part is lightly padded and 3.5 cm wide.
The curb strap is 12 mm wide.
Length mini/shetland: Nose part 22-28 cm, Curbstrap 11,5-19,5 cm.
Length Pony/Cob: Nose part 28-36 cm, Curbstrap 13,5-21,5 cm.
